Port St Joe

One day last week we decided to drive along Highway 98 and Scenic Route 30A to see some more of the beautiful beaches and quaint little towns that hug the Gulf of Mexico. This area is also called the Emerald Coast due to the colour of the water. Our end destination was Port St Joe, only just over 2 hours from Destin, and although we left home around 8.30am, we never got there until 1.30pm.

Our drive took us past and through some delightful seaside towns, in fact, one of the prettiest was actually called Seaside. It was linked in with another pretty town called Watercolor, and we just had to stop there and check it out. It was morning tea time - how handy. We bought the most delicious (Thanks Amavida) coffee we have had so far in the USA and sat on this stunning beach. Bliss. To get here we walked past the colourful tables shown below...apparently you can buy the yummy coffee beans from here (http://30a.com/30a-coffee-by-amavida/).

Here is an example of the entrance to the town of Ally (I have a delightful niece by that name, so I had to stop and take this photo)

Another beautiful beach

We saw lots of pretty coloured buildings, amazing motorbikes and trikes, and generally enjoyed the day. In Mexico Beach we used the self timer on the camera to take this photo of the two of us perched on this huge chair.

We returned home via Hwy 20 for a different view and came home over the Choctawhatchee Bay. All in all a great day.
