Making the most of the mild temperatures and sunshine today, the 4 of us spent a pleasant few hours wandering around and having lunch at the weekend Farmers' Market in downtown Anchorage. After a side visit to Kincaid Park, we decided to check out the local botanical gardens. The boys took a raincheck & had a nap in the car while Marie & I braved the entrance where every visitor is warned about the bears and moose. I checked with the staff - the fence & big gates are to keep the moose out (they would devour the gardens), but nothing stops the bears - they climb straight over. Fortunately the berries in the gardens don't ripen until the end of summer, so the bears aren't too interested in the area just yet. We completed our tour unscathed.
I put together a selection of flower photos to show you what we saw today. As per a previous blog, if you don't like flowers, then skip this blog entry!
I love flowers so i keep enjoying the beautifull photos.
