Driving East Leaving North Dakota
RV Secret Gardens
After we said our goodbyes at the Prairie Clover Ranch yesterday, we drove east and took great delight in being able to see the hay fields and have a better understanding of what each machine was used for. The further east we went, the higher and healthier the corn seemed – the highest was around the 6’ mark. One corn field we saw had one doe and two fawns feeding on the edge – if you look closely in the photo, you may see them! The countryside was so picturesque with a church or a school house seemingly in the middle of nowhere. As we got closer to the Minnesota border we saw field after field of soya beans, corn and some potatoes.
We found a lovely campground that wasn’t listed in any of our books or the internet, but what a treasure. It was in the little town of Mayfield ND and had full hookups and was located right on a river. Adjacent to the campground was a lovely garden, and I took a few photos as I wandered through it this morning before we drove out. About 30 mins later we had left North Dakota and entered Minnesota. Another adventure awaits…
